S:1 EP:0.5 How sound is social science? Navigating Michigans Proposal G Debate with Chris Kreiner and Josh Mapes

Join us on Outfitter Connection for a special Season 1 Episode .5 as we delve into the fallout of Michigan's NRC decision to circumvent Proposal G. We're joined by Chris Kreiner from Great Outdoor Pursuits and Josh Mapes from Overdrive Outdoors to dissect the severe implications of this move. We'll explore how the closure of coyote season during crucial wildlife birthing seasons for whitetail fawns, turkey poults, waterfowl hatchlings, and upland birds jeopardizes the efforts of hunters committed to population management. Despite sound scientific evidence, the DNR and NRC's reliance on "social science" has opened Pandora's box, leaving hunters handcuffed. Don't miss this critical discussion on the intersection of policy, science, and hunting ethics.

That is definitely one of many possibilities. There are a few different narratives that could be true. We’ll probably never know the actual reasoning.

This is more about the insurance companies being in the back pocket of our DNR. If they can find a way in their mind to get more coyotes to survive, in Michigan, that would equal less deer. and that’s exactly what the insurance companies want. That’s why they’re mine was made up before they even went into this meeting.
